Got my old car out and took it for a spin with the kids. They loved it. Thanks Carey for giving it to me years ago. Corbyn got a truck today for his prize for potty training. It's good thing they are different frequencies so that we can drive them together.

Couponing 12/20/2011
I just used my Albertsons doublers on 4 boxes of Ritz and 13 packs of butter. I paid $15.53 after coupons. Matching up the sale with the coupons and using the doublers saved $44.20 off the total. Thanks Carey for finding great deals.

Folding printed coupons
Here is a video on folding printed coupons from internet coupon sites.
And here is a picture guide on folding printed coupons from internet coupon sites.
After printing coupons to the limit.
Cut the coupons out. I use this 12 inch paper cutter. It is so much faster and easier than scissors. Especially when cutting multiple sheets.
Stack all of the same coupons and place face down, with the top away from you.
Fold the left side 1/3ish of the way in, at a slight angle so that the expiration date is above the top of the coupon.
Fold the right side straight over making sure not to cover the expiration date.
On the front you can see the expiration date and the product image.
Turn the page over and you can see the value of the coupon.
Bowling
Today Carey and I took the family bowling. At the Nampa Bowl. They do Thursday Dollar Days. Bowling $1, Shoe rental $1, Fries $1, Hot dog $1, and Soda $1. We bowled a game and had lunch. This was our kids' first time bowling. They loved it and it was so much fun.
Our main motivating factor for going was to sign off Carsyn's bowling requirements for Cub Scouts. We were able to sign off the arrow point and the belt loop. After we were finished one of the guys that works there talked with Carsyn about bowling and helped him sign off some of his requirements for his Bowling pin. Carsyn even got to go into the back and see how the lanes work.
Here is an action shot of Cole, our 2 year old. (He picked the pink 8lb ball.)
His score 80. He got second place.
I would include that I got first place, but I've been told that I am not a gracious winner so I'll just leave that out.

Tie Rack / Storage System
I ran out of room for my ties along time ago. I have two of these tie racks with each hook doubled up and two hangers holding the overflow. This isn't the best way to store ties, and it makes it difficult to pick out a tie for the day.
This week I decided to build a new tie storage system.
Here is my new tie system, on the wall, with my ties on the shelves (thanks for the help Carey). Although the picture only shows the top half. The rack is 2 sections, 18 inches wide and 6 feet tall and holds only 152 ties. I already have 129 ties on the rack. 23 more ties and I'll have to build another section.

Spice Rack - Day 2
Here are pictures from my spice rack project.
Here is the before.
We bought this spice rack when we were living in an apartment in Colorado. As you can see it is small and full.
This is the cupboard that the overflow of spices goes into. Also full and difficult to find what is needed.
Here is the after.
The NEW spice rack that I built, installed on the pantry door.
And here is the cupboard that once held a lot of the spices. Now all the items are visible and can be accessed easily.

Here is the spice rack that I built today. It is just waiting to get stained and mounted.
I'm excited to get this up and have all my spices organized.

Carey took this video and wanted to share it. Her phone won't send it to Facebook, so I thought I'd share it for her. In her words, "The video speaks for its self."

Thirsty?
Thirsty?
So we got a Groupon for admission, skate rental and large drinks for 4.
Tonight we went skating and used our Groupon. When we took a break and got our drinks I was shocked at the size. It was quite funny to see Carsyn and Corbyn drinking from these cups that are bigger than they are. The boys had so much fun. They asked if we could go skating again tomorrow. Guess we might have to look into getting a pass.

10 jalapeño peppers, thinly sliced
2 cups cut carrots
2 cloves of garlic

Zaycon Foods Fresh Hickory Smoked Bacon
I Just ordered Zaycon Foods Fresh Hickory Smoked, regular sliced Bacon. It is only $2.97 per lb., that is what the cheap bacon costs at the grocery store. This is my first order for their bacon. I've ordered chicken from them before and was great chicken. I've been told that the bacon is very good. You can click the link above and see if Zaycon serves your area. Put that KD7SRD referred you and It will help me out on my next order.

Two nights in Hailey, ID
Ride Idaho got us great accommodations for our 2 night stay in Hailey, ID.
We are staying in this 3 bed, 2 bath house. Much nicer than the 50+ year old motels we've been in for the last few nights.
The other ham guys were nice enough to give Carey, Cooper and I the Master Suite.
Craters of the Moon - Near Carey, ID
Today's ride was from Arco, ID to Hailey, ID. For part of the ride today we went through the Crater's of the Moon National Monument. Here are a couple of pictures that I took with my phone.
These dead trees fit the landscape nicely.
A shot of the landscape.
Dark Skies near Arco
Yesterday we were ridding into Arco, ID from Challis, ID
As Carey, Cooper and I sat in the car we looked at the sky and saw these dark clouds. When the clouds opened up and started dumping rain it got cold fast. There were a lot of cyclist that sought shelter under trees and awnings. We had numerous riders that wanted to SAG in. We got the SAGs back out onto the course and loaded a few cyclists up to go into camp, and then the sun came out. It rained hard just long enough to get everyone wet and cold.

1940 Hymn Book
While going through the boxes and boxes of music that Carey's Mother had, we found this Hymn book from 1940. What a great addition to our library, and a great reminder of her musical talents.
